edLeader21 Consortium The North Salem Central School District is a member of the edLeader12 Consortium. As of August, 2011 approximately 75 districts from around the United States have been invited to join. Membership is based on the work our district has already done to prepare students for their lives in the 21st Century. We are honoured to be recognized for the work we have done to date to implement our Mission to “Engage students to continuously learn, question, define and solve problems through critical and creative thinking.” We look forward to an active partnership with the best school districts across the United States to provide the very best education that prepares our students for their lives. The VISION of edLeader21 is for every student to be ready for the citizenship and economic challenges of the 21st century. The MISSION of edLeader21 is to empower education leaders to implement 21st century district initiatives. We will accomplish this through a district leaders’ professional learning community that enhances critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity skills for all students and educators. The North Salem Central School District has already won the respect of our edLeader21 fellow educators through the way we have integrated critical and creative thinking into our K-12 Problem Solving Task process and for the way we are involving our parents, community groups, and others in the “Problem Solving For Life” processes.
